Orthodontics
Both for children and adults
Treatment of most dental abnormities begins when children change their teeth. At that time, when the children are still growing, the development of their jaw bone and bow of teeth can be regulated before growing ends, if treatment is started in due time.
At this age the development of the growing jaw bone and teeth is easier to influence by using simpler devices, usually removable, smaller, glued dental plates, and can be adequately controlled under constant control. Later on, when permanent teeth have developed, irregularity can only be restored by removing one or more teeth, and the improper relation of the lower and upper jaw bones can only be treated by a combination of surgery of the jaw bone and a dental plate.
As a matter of course, a regular layout of the teeth can be achieved for adults as well. Adult teeth can also be treated by appropriate devices, and various aesthetic tooth-coloured porcelain bracettes (which are glued onto the tooth) and dental splints with a tooth-coloured Teflon finish are available.
